  1. 1. Unification public diplomacy 

   : As seen in the Korean Peninsula peace process, peace and security are the most important foundations for our lives. Accordingly, the Department of International Relations is a study that seeks peace from the perspective of international politics.

 

 

  1. 2. Theory-based globalization issue analysis

   : Understanding various globalization issues such as climate change, refugees, economic crisis, poverty, and international development cooperation from the perspective of international politics and seeking solutions

 

 

  1. 3. Regional Studies and Global Citizenship Development

   : Strengthening global citizenship capabilities through understanding of various regions such as New Southern and New Northern policies, especially the Department of International Relations focuses on East Asian trade cooperation.

 

 

  1. 4. Various subject/extracurricular activities and support
  1.    1) Annual support of 200 million won for “AIMS project” for exchange student scholarship program supported by the Ministry of Education

  2.    2) Supporting institutions affiliated with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, “Public Diplomacy Competency Reinforcement University Project” 30 million won annually

Major Projects

 

Campus Asia-AIMS project

  •  - This is an undergraduate student exchange program between Korea and ASEAN universities to foster ASEAN regional experts.
  •  

Public Diplomacy Seminar (KF Public Diplomacy Capacity Building Support Project)

  •  - It aims to provide opportunities for public diplomacy education at the level of higher education and to raise the awareness and understanding of university students about public diplomacy. This course is implemented by the Korea Foundation for Public Diplomacy Leading University Support Project. It aims to invite experts in public diplomacy to learn about issues and tasks in public diplomacy through field experiences and to present possibilities of application in various fields. Students learn various theories and practices of public diplomacy from outside experts such as the Korea Foundation, diplomats, heads of local governments, and officials from public institutions.
  •  - What is public diplomacy? Unlike traditional diplomacy, which deals with international relations through intergovernmental negotiation, various private actors use soft power to win the hearts of the foreign public and secure support.

 

Peace on the Korean Peninsula and Unification/Public Diplomacy (Special Lecture on Unification for University Students)

  •  - It aims to enhance the awareness of unification among university students by expanding the opportunities for university students to participate in unification education and to expand the base of unification education for university students. This course is implemented as a project supported by the Ministry of Unification and the National Institute for Unification Studies in Korea. Through the theory and practice of unification public diplomacy, the subject draws on a multifaceted understanding of the peace process on the Korean Peninsula and the future of a unified Korean Peninsula, and experts in each field, especially unification, By inviting experts related to North Korea and public diplomacy, we intend to understand unification and peace as a concrete and practical topic, and seek practice in combination with public diplomacy.
